What is it with this recent trend of people trying to challenge established, verified science based on nothing.

The Earth is warming. That much is a simple fact. It is widely accepted throughout the scientific community (people that know what they are talking about) that this is down to changes in the atmosphere. On what basis are unqualified people challenging those that spend their lives studying and learning this stuff?

Because it's inconvenient.

Wasn't a dig at you specifically Dean, it's a general thing.

Not just global warming either. The while anti-vax thing is beyond ridiculous. So much progress being lost because people listen to some dumb bint on the internet over highly qualified scientists. Now there are children dying as a result... literally.

I did like the guy with the spirit level on the plane to prove the world was flat! The brother of  friend of mine is proper David Icke territory, he is fantastic to watch unravel on Facebook!

That guy was hilarious. All too often it's those that know the least about science that are trying to challenge it.

I often come across people claiming evolution to be false when it's clear that they know nothing about it. "If we came from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?". They spout this shite as though they are destroying established science. Fucking clueless.

A while back I was following a thread of political 'discussion' on Facebook and someone, incredibly, not only brought the Holocaust into it but then denied it had happened. I mean...really?

No, they denied the Holocaust had happened. Said Hitler loved Jews, even.

Try being in Wales  Roll Eyes it's bad enough jumping on the bandwagon for a team you have no connection to, people round here are bandwagonning the entire sport..

(The rest of the year football's just for wimps and isn't as good as rugby, see)
