My wife dropping very unsubtle hits about wanting to adopt a dog.

Don't get me wrong, i like dogs but we've already discussed it that we should wait a few years yet. Looks like that few years might be getting shorter.

Resistance is futile.

A drop down the pecking order for you then, after kids and the dog.  Smiley

Dogs are just animals..... it's the owners that are the problem. Too many just don't seem to get the basic concept that ownership means they have a responsibility not only to the animal but also the wider community.

So, a small but fairly typical example.  Walking through Morgan's Hill Nature Reserve yesterday.... Wilts Trust for Nature Consevation have put up posters politely explaining why irresponsible dog owners are making their work difficult, and thereby hampering wlidlife.

Things like chasing grazing cattle, shit not being picked up, or probably worse plastic turd bags hung on branches.

Ground nesting birds like the skylark getting disturbed, children and volunteers undertaking fieldwork projects getting covered in shit.

So their request, bag it bin it, keep dog on a lead. Walk a bit further into the site and yes there's some dopy cunt letting their dog run around out of control.

Further into the walk, at the gallops by Beckhampton.... more perhaps this time not so polite requests from the land owner about major problems being caused by irresponsible dog owners.

I know, and we will get a dog but i just want the boys to be a bit older. My in-laws have a spaniel and he's brilliant with the kids but he can get a bit excited and ends up knocking my youngest over a lot. Would prefer to wait a year or two until my youngest is a bit more robust.

Sky's lingering slow motion shots of that Tottenham hand shake thing when they score.

Bobbing & weaving avoiding the balls flying everywhere but in the goal during the pre match "shooting" practice warm up.

Triumph of ambition over ability.

For once the practice carries through to the game. A few years ago a pericard effort at Walsall wasnt far from smacking my daughter in the head. Unwisely we were to the side of the goal. Enjoy your day wobbly Bob.
