Does the law take into account what the animal is when it comes to sentencing? Genuine question...

The law doesn't, although you do have "protected animals". I have some stories about people with certain sexual... interests shall we say who were sentenced under the animal cruelty act, and we aren't just talking about nice cuddly pets. I'll say no more than that!

In my list of annoyances today - people who say stuff like "it was last minute.com"  and doctors.

It's kind of a common pop-science fact that most serial killers and violent offenders start off abusing animals..and whilst it's not exactly that cut and dry it does show an element of psychopathy/lack of empathy that's quite dangerous and to me, disturbing. I think that's why I find it hard to think "well, it was only a fish/cat/whatever."

It's a bit like fox hunting really - it's not that I'm particularly enamoured with foxes, but why would you get a kick out of killing them?

Apart from downpressing the working classes and shooting grouse, it's all Tories have to look forward to.

FWIW my sister who is a lifelong Labour voter hunted a fair bit when we were kids, in all her years they never actually caught anything and it was just a social thing to be able to ride in places one was not normally allowed to ride - I still mention it occasionally when she is with friends Wink

Vale Of White Horse ?

Interestingly the VWH used to operate out of The Square in OT, as recently as I think the early 60's, when Swindon's expansion finally meant an end to their patch.  A history, which neatly encapsulates the sort of divisions which still very much exist in the UK.

My daughter catching me squarely in the knackers mid way through bedtime story, how I didn't swear I do not know, actually quite proud of myself through my watering eyes!

I punched my boyfriend in the same position the other night in my sleep. I don't think I've ever said sorry so many times in a minute, I thought he was going to die. (It was a bit funny though  Girl Giggle)

Buying a second hand car on Saturday, today the central locking won't work (even when using the key manually in the door) thus the car won't lock.

my eldest is just the right height that when he comes to give me a cuddle and catches me off guard I get a painful head-butt to the bollocks
