Thinking of replacing mine at the mo - had it over 6 years and still good as gold!
Bought a nice Panasonic from Burdens. Had it about five years now no problems, still as good as new picture wise. The box shifters have their models made to a price with obscure model numbers that you generally cannot match with another supplier. Everything has built in obsolescence but you should get a better return on your out lay if you are are pre pared to pay more.

Bloody flat screen TV's only lasting about 2-3 years every time. Packed up again this morning, sound but no picture so here we go again!

Why not get it fixed? My last one broke, took it to Burdens and it cost £45 to fix.

Buying RAM and parts for a cunting HP workstation. I believe I finally got the ram and found an upgrade on my CPU, but the CPU coolers have 5 pin plugs and fail using a traditional 4 pin.

You have to connect pin 5 to pin 1, so it's just a useless fucking ground to ensure you buy only official parts. Don't get me started on the PSU...

We live in the sticks so would be a ball ache to find someone to do it plus factor in the time to take it to them and then collect it, probably not helped that we always buy the cheapest option!

In 10 years i've only had 2 TV's. I only got the second as a hand me down from my old man because after 6 months of owning it he decided a 42 inch TV was too small so decided to get a 52-er.

The little bit of water that sits in the caps (or bottoms if they are an upside-down bottle) of shower gels and shampoo bottles in the shower.

Fuck YES.

I shower at work and the amount of times it's come out in my washbag on the way back to my desk. Just fuck off.

The little it of water is insignificant compared to the power of the force...that opens shower gel lids in you bag which proceeds to empty itself over everything.

Used to be a real PITA with Lynx until they changed the bottle/

I've never used any chemical products....working on the basis that if birds pick up on pheromones, then covering them up is a mistake.

The unique scent of a bird, is one of the pleasures of life.

thanks.

probably going for auto aid. wouldn't have considered, but got recommendation from member. £43, personal cover me and Mrs. sound too cheap..

oh, and 13% quidco.... bargain.

I have breakdown cover with a similar firm. The service you receive is unfortunately dictated by the recovery firm they send out to you. For example Egertons didn't have a battery booster pack when I called them out to get my car started from a drained battery. Not a huge problem accept I live in the York Road area so the bloke had to block through way access whilst he jumped my car.

8 attempts and 30 mins later using jump leads the car finally got going. He was embarrassed by the situation.

Yeah, figured is was the big three, then much of a muchness for the "contract out" types.

You wouldn't get the issue you had from the RAC/AA/GF, mind you even the big three contract out.

The one I've gone for has a poor home start policy (call out + pay , claim back up to £65). But with Groupon and quidco its working out at about £36 (not £129) I'd expect compromises. If the RAC provide shite service then at worst this co will be cheaper shite service!

Yeah I can't complain at all and knew it was a compromise. I paid £19 for the year via groupon and that call out alone was £98, so I didn't moan about it at all.
Had I paid £100 more for cover I certainly would have been on the phone to complain.
