Can someone explain why it's so unsafe to u-turn there? It's a pretty straight road and it's 40mph, I'm struggling to understand what the problem is. For the record I drive that section of Tewkesbury way probably once or twice a year.
And going back to this particular accident, it looks as though the car has pulled out to u-turn, whilst the motorcyclist was overtaking, and has subsequently rode into the side of him. Which I happen to blame the driver for, for what it's worth. (Assuming the motorcyclist's speed wasn't reckless.)

Is it not an arterial main road? I've not been down there in a while...but feels like a very risky place to turn around to me. |

it really isn't that bad at the top end, you have excellent visibility forward the mannington direction. as long as you look in both directions..
by the bridge, not sure. never looked to turn around there

Yea that looks like the biker has laid his bike down, rather than flip over the bonnet... there's a small crest in the road under the bridge isn't there?
Actually, looks like both were travelling in the same direction... bike overtaking stationary traffic, Astra driver got impatient in traffic and tried to pull a U-turn maybe?
