I'm assuming you no longer live in Eldene, or are you really that unobservant? Smiley

Haven't been back in ages. It was one of the main landmarks of the area in my childhood.

What landmarks are there left now? The co-op?

Landmarks? The Crump is still there, as is the weir at Shaftesbury lake, the big spider-web climbing frame thing in the play ground next to the school, and Lower Eldene (or Liden, as it is called on the road signs).

The spider web frame is STILL THERE? I thought they were going to build shops there!

The Canada Geese on that lake are evil.

I don't seem to be having much luck with watches lately. I mentioned recently about a jeweler wanting an extortionate amount to change a watch battery, well I got it changed elsewhere but now the watch has stopped again.

I've another watch that also has a dead battery, this one is a simple press fit back so thought I'd change it myself. It took some leverage to get the back off, but was simple enough to do - only the back now won't go back on. A jeweler's had a go in their press and it won't snap on, they even suggested they might be able to 'trim' the back to get it back in, but no joy. Looks like I'm going to have to send it back to the manufacturer.

You can. The next watch I get will be an automatic or mechanical movement for sure.

I've got a Seiko automatic, so I can enjoy my favourite pastime and wind my watch at the same time!

How accurate do you find it ? Mine used to lose about a second or two a day

It probably does the same but I'm never that time conscious!

FFS, the movement is shagged!

Looks like this month's bonus might be going on a new watch.
