It's with that kind of attitude that this country is going down the pan.

Grin

Though one may argue that your attitude of leaving it to the person before is no better

I know we covered this recently but online delivery has rid me of this. I haven't been in a supermarket for months! Smiley

Women who walk into doors, hitting it primarily with their eyes. How?

Why is that even considered as a believable excuse for a black eye? And how do you point out it's clearly bullshit when it's the third time in a year a friend has "walked into a door" and hit it with their eye. I don't even know how you could do that.

That's not at all trivial. That's probably something you should be reporting to the police.

It's certainly not trivial, if the worst were to be true. She's adamant that's exactly what's happened, and as I know her husband pretty well, it makes it harder to do/say anything too strongly.

They've been married for about 10 years and I've never even seen any arguments. He exhibits no signs of being possessive or controlling of her in any way.

It's a tough one.

Is she around three and a half to four feet tall?

If not, she's probably not been walking into to doors at eye level.

But it's still a tough one to help with in any way, not trivial as Paul says.

And actually "You should report it" is a pretty glib response, appreciate it's not always easy to just do that esp when you've known them for some time. But do you want to be one of (probably) many turning a blind eye to what sounds like it could be a pretty serious problem, especially if it then gets worse and you know you could perhaps have done something before it did. Can you discreetly ask her if she's OK? Or one of her friends? Women's aid (http://www.swindonwomensaid.org/) may be able to give you some advice.

Stay out of it. None of your business is it?
If people get knocked about they can leave. They have many options nowadays. Let them get on with it I say. They probably wouldn't thank you for getting involved anyway
