I did this when my kids were younger and still do it sometimes in pubs etc. What do you want people to do, all queue up together causing an obstruction?

I find it more annoying when people queue for a good length of time and then take an age to decide what they want when they get served. The idea is to decide whilst you're queuing, you plum. Also people in front of you who carry on chatting to the person on the till when they have finished their transaction.

Or people (dare I say women) who always seem so surprised that they have to pay and then spend ages rummaging around in their handbag looking for their purse.

If someone "gets too close" you take "an age to pack your bags...?" Hmmm

No. I move around the end of the till, then go slow 
There was one occasion where someone actually started pushing their trolley into me. It caused a spasm which meant the trolley rolled back a bit

"Silent Sunday" at kids football.

Load of old crap and I despise it being rolled onto the back of remembrance Sunday too.

Obviously there are a couple of things that I think should be happening already:

What Do We Expect?

    All clubs and leagues to sign up
    All clubs to manage this initiative internally and ensure total adherence
    Where possible an Adult Ambassador to be present at every game
    All adults to refrain from any shouting or direct communication with players
    Quiet discussion between adults only
    Applause for both teams
    Parents to refrain from “advising” coaches
    Parents/ Coaches to refrain from “advising” or questioning referees
    Players to respond to post-match survey
    Adults to respond to post-match survey
    Referees to respond to post-match survey

The reasoning for it:

Young children tell us they are frightened and intimidated by excessive noise levels. Older players tell us it irritates and angers them and often results in an exchange of words with coaches and parents

Still, at least at this time its only for one day.

If the team scores, then really, just polite quite talking between parents. Don't think so.
