What I don't get about these parents is that they are ignoring the advice of doctors. These doctors/surgeons study for bloody years to know their shit inside out. Yet the parents think some alternative treatment, they possibly just discovered on the interweb, is a better option than the advice of experts.

Regardless of all of that the fact they were arrested is ridiculous

From personal experience, doctors don't always know what they're doing - or if they do they certainly don't tell you. The internet (Dr Google) has helped me out no end. So-called experts sometimes are not all that...

Your regular run of the mill GP yea I'd agree but this kiddy has brain cancer. I'm guessing those looking after him are pretty clued up.

I wasn't necessarily referring to "run of the mill GPs", more specialists.

Ah. Theoretically then. I sent the kids to play over in the park this afternoon so they wouldn't get bored while I had a haircut round the corner. A sight more dangerous than leaving them tucked up in a room, wouldn't you say? So is that child neglect, and should I be behind bars? And am I the only criminal parent on here?

You sound a bit sanctimonious to me. Like they need any more punishment.

What annoys me is that they raised loads of money to try and find their daughter, but during the search the mother found time to get a nose job.

If that's what annoys you then I don't know how to respond. It's so random, you just seem to need to find a reason to dislike them.

Nail on the head, frankly.

The influence of the 'red tops' makes me shudder at times.

And for the record I'm with Red Frog on this. It's good to see that, despite the media frenzy, some can see through the sensationalism.

They don't come across as 'likeable'. That doesn't equate to guilt of any kind, nor does it justify people commenting on them as if they were evil or callous. People deal with things in different ways. I'm just glad my many parenting fuck ups never resulted in anything more than panic (for me mostly).

We all have, but it's called getting on with life. The alternative is a suffocating paranoia that must really fuck your kids up.
