Surely the fact that a League 1 Leeds sent him out on loan (cos presumably they didn't think he warranted a regular first team place) should tell us that he is not good enough for the Premiership?

Would like him to stay here though.

Oh agreed, but I reckon he could do a good job for us for the time being! :-)

I'd be happy enough if we signed him.

He was ok, nothing more imo.

Think there are better out there within our budget/reach anyway

Not good enough for us, but you'd be happy if we signed him ?  - outstanding.

I think he has a touch/kick of a Prem player, but his marking/pace not good enough.

Would love to sign Sheehan. i sort of get the impression he is not all that interested about being here as he is very vague whenever asked about staying at Swindon. That said he is probably just leaving his options open. He is hopeful of a Championship club and has never made any secret of that fact You would think any Championship clubs would have "tried before they buyed" and took him on loan instead of him coming here so perhaps there is not much interest from CCC Clubs so his agent is just doing his job and sounding him out. The fact he came from Leeds United is good enough for some clubs alone to take a punt really.

Quote
Asked whether he would consider a permanent move to Swindon, he replied: "I can't really answer that right now. I've enjoyed my time and I suppose it would be pretty stupid if I didn't want to. It's been brilliant here, it's one of the best years that I've enjoyed my football. Everything about the club is brilliant. I can't speak highly enough about the club."

Championship class in my opinion and I predict that's where he will end up unfortunately.

Fingers crossed we sign him up, and some of his free kicks hit the back of the net next season !

i think the championship is beyond him, but wouldn't mind him and another left back competing for that space

I dunno. Sometimes I think he's good, sometimes I think he is shite. Sort of a cross between Marmite and diarrhea.

If he stays then fine, if not then goodbye. There seems to be a shortage of good left backs around though?

He is better than Lex in that position and that is who he would be competing with for the LB spot - so iti s a no brainer sign him up and he would get first team football, goes elsewhere and he risks warming the bench

Interesting that on This is....Site, David Lucas talks about the excellent loanees, and how he hopes to see them back....Ward, Ferry, Darby.....no Sheehan....significant?
