Dear TEF Computer dudes

Since i downloaded an update for IE8, my login details on here, Wastebook etc are now no longer remembered. For instance, when i used to type the first letter of my email address, the whole email would show up in the little drop down menu thingy.
So i was wondering, how do i reinstate this? I was hoping after i logged in again that the email/username would then be saved, but apparently not...

Hope you can help!

Many thanks!

Don't use IE8.

Hope that helps.

Try Tools-Advanced and towards the bottom click Restore Advanced Settings, if that don't work try the Reset IE settings right at the bottom

Alternatively do what Samdy said

Opera and Firefox are the best alternatives

Haha! Okay, cheers. I will give it a go. I'm not a fan of Firefox though. Takes up too much CPU Usage for my liking. Never tried Opera, so may give that a bash, if worse comes to the worse.

Opera also has a built in mail client, so if you use a POP addy from your ISP it's pretty easy to configure

Opera is good, as is Safari.

My new favourite though, aside from FF, is SRWare Iron. It's Google Chrome just without that Spyware part which sends data on everything you're doing to Google. Very lightweight and fast.

Seems like a lot of IE 8 users are experiencing the same problem, seems the solutions is Tools > internet options > privacy > inprivate settings - at the bottom of the page, untick disable toolbars and extensions etc.  Restart your browser et voila!

I've given up on Firefox, I used to think that it was the dogs but it has just become so sloooooooooooow (>95% CPU), almost mimicking Windows bloatware.

Opera is mighty quick and almost as good, just lacks an easy to install spell checker.
