The role was a token gesture. I'll be interested to see who will take him on next.

Put your money on it being a job in Chilly Jocko Land, maybe near his spiritual home of Dundee.

I read a piece on him just the other day. He's got a mild form of Parkinsons. He said he's unaffected by it as long as he takes his pills 4 times (I think) per day. He just gets a bit of a shakey leg sometimes.
Retiring in Plimuff is still the plan, but he wants to carry on in fball for a bit first.

Leaving through the back door.
Ruined his reputation there going back.

Spot on Spencer. Don't ever go back somewhere you've been a legend, you can only lose. Good piece on the Beeb about what's gone wrong there this season: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/plymouth_argyle/8632083.stm

They might want him back, Mariner seems deluded, and the board don't go up to games:
That is "the goal and...the hope" of the Argyle head coach, speaking after the Pilgrims' 3-0 defeat at play-off bound Nottingham Forest.
"There are no guarantees in football, but I don't think we're far off," said Paul.
"I'm 100% the right person to get this club up. I care about this club and know exactly what this team needs to be successful.
"We're not that far off. If you look at our results [this season], even though we have got a lot of losses, we haven't been played off the park by too many teams.
"So, if we just tinker with it a little bit, I think we'll be okay."
