I'd do a system restore and see if the problem goes away.

I take it the drive letter of the ipod hasn't changed at all?

Can you tell iTunes to look for the music on the ipod i.e. add the ipod directory (folder) to the library?

If it creates duplicates you can delete these easily but one thing at a time...

Ummm, that sounds suspiciously like your ipod is playing up. Has it been skipping or locking up? If so I would back it up asap, in fact I would anyway because iPod hard drives always go wrong.

Sorry to bump this thread.

I've been using sharepod transfer songs back from my ipod to my pc. It seems to have partially done the trick, however my ipod has 6,000 songs on it and my library only has 5,000 odd. Clearly not all the songs have transferred back across. Is there any freeware other then sharepod that will allow me to extract all the content and put it back on my hard drive?

A shared library belonging to a Charlotte Burt has shown up on my itunes. I don't know a Charlotte Burt... How do I cut her off completely from my own library? All I can do at the moment is turn home sharing off... Also could she get access to my card details?

Chances are she'll be connected to the same network as you? is it the halls one?

I had that happen, pretty sure they can't get your card details.

Do what I did and facebook stalk her to see if she's hot.

But surely you need approval to share a library with someone...

I found that you could see their library but not steal any music from it.

Which was good as this girls music taste was shite.
