Austin had hurt his neck again and looked a bit tired from the look of things.

For the first 30 minutes we were playing arguably the best football we have all season - good enough to be challenging for the playoffs in the Championship, let alone Division One. Charlton might not have looked that good at first glance but they were handling everything we threw at them and looked pretty solid at the back.

I'd happilly take Charlton in the play offs if we both get there. I thought they were shit. A decent pair of centre backs who got away with murder every time they challenged and Shelvey was decent. I didn't think we were that great yesterday but much too good for Charlton. We just got dragged down by the refereee's inability to let the game flow and his complete indulgence in their wanky tactics. Another day, another ref we'd have mullered them. I hope we get the chance.
There was only one decent team on show yestersday.

I thought it was a good game and enjoyed it.

Shame about the goal given away,,,,,It was Paynter or Macklin i think who didnt bother to go for the header that led to the goal.

Onwards to Oldham!

Although the ref was crap austin was lucky not to get booked or sent off,did anyone else see him kick out at one of the charlton players around the halfway line, any other ref i think he would have been sent off.It wasn't as if the ref did't see it either.

Quite. I saw the look of disbelief on his face from the Town End. Charlie - keep your feet on the ground lad, it won't go in every single time.

Having said that I was talking to one of his uncles in the CGH a couple of games back and we can be reassured that his family won't let him get delusions of grandeur.

It was Austin. Quite surprised the Charlton player didn't make more of it.

Not sure i'd fancy that lot at Wembley. I think Shelvey and Bailey would shine. Thought they were better than Leeds, first half an hour aside.

I'm a little bit gutted tbh, we had a right sniff of automatic and we've buried it with 2 wanky late defensive lapses in a week.

Just watched the highlights and I can not believe we did not win that game and what Lesci was doing for there goal god only knows he completely switched off and let Bailey run around the back of him, they have used up all there get of jail free cards on us this season lets just hope we have the chance to stuff it down there throats in the play-offs.

Macklin has only played a couple of games since recovering from his broken leg so of course he's off the pace a bit, who wouldn't be.  He needs to be playing regular match day football so I definitely agree that a spell on loan would do him the world of good.

i agree macklin didn't have aclue where to go or what to do, get him out on loan till end of season then have him bk for next. if he is as good as they recon he will be first team next season.

Also don't know why Wilson puts Macklin on as a striker because he's plays right-mid!!!
