i remember once trying to change a light bulb in the middle of the night, ended up having to use a mirror to beam some light from the working one.

On a slightly related question, just noticed my insurance statement says my car was manufactured in 1996, when it was actually 1999. All other details are correct.
On a scale of 1 to very bad, how bad is this?

Could've been manufactured in '96 but not registered until '99.
Check your V5 (logbook), think it has both dates on there.

Are you sure the car is registered to you then?

I jolly well hope so. The man at the garage gave me part of a slip and said he'd send the rest to the DVLA.
I checkd on DVLA website, was manufactured in 99. £46 more on the quote!!

If he sent it off, you would've/should've received the V5 in the post. It will have all your car and personal details on it.

It doesn't have a logbook It's the V5 document you need with your registration details on. Never quite understood why it's called a logbook when it's not a book.

No, same as. I used to think a logbook was the service history book. And the logbook was just the v5 or registration doc.

personally i wouldn't wait till monday.
when me and the Mrs brought the old MG the guy said he'd post it off etc. 2 weeks later phoned DVLA and he hadn't posted it so none of my details were there.
2 weeks after that i wrote the car off but luckily i'd already phoned them and sent off my little slip i was given otherwise insurance etc was all invalid
