I don't think Snow is the problem though as that can be cleared with a few volunteers it is whether the pitch is frozen underneath with all the freezing temps we have had, especially the side by the DRS - I'd be surprised if it is on
I heard DW on Wilts Radio say that the pitch underneath the snow is fine. It's just the snow needs clearing. As the snow on the pitch has not been compressed into ice I expect it to be game on as it will thaw by 3pm sat

Temp shouldn't get anywhere near zero between now and 3pm, should be ok.

Looking forward to this one....no football for a couple of weeks, plus gills, plus a little more spice owing to the 5-0.

Expecting quite a turnout.

I hope the game is off ... forecast is good for the pitch to be cleared but I dont like the sound of the hurricane winds coming for Saturday.
We need to play Gillingham on a good surface and calmer conditions, with a very wet pitch and high winds the game will be a lottery, we need to give this lot a good thrashing, which I believe we would if the conditions were favourable.

Yes, first game of the season, never a good time to play a newly promoted side. That was then, this is now ... we are the form side playing with confidence, only one result if conditions are fair and even.

I don't care if it's wet, or cold, or windy. A 1-0 win will do just fine.

If you couldn't tell, I'm not going!

The last time we played them at the CG, we beat them also 5-0, but really we should've had 10. They were the worst side I have ever seen at the CG.

the pitch should have been cleared yesterday.if it is off it is stfc's fault.
they asked for help last year when it was always going to be a struggle to get the game on.this weekend is a different situation where there is a much better chance of the game being played.yet no request for volounteers to clear the pitch.

Not sure why they haven't asked for volunteers to clear the pitch as when i helped last time it was a much bigger job than i anticapated.

A couple of scoops of snows and your wheelbarrows full and you'd only cleared half a foot square on snow, although may be easy this time.

1 reason for the lack of request maybe of damage to the pitch, last time it had covers underneath, so there was some extra protection from someone putting a spade through and pulling up half the turf, this time there probably isn't.

Where did you hear this, no mention on the OS, which i have thought the'd put first.

Strange thing is when we did this last year the removal didn't start till friday pm and the conditions weren't improving that much but I had a better feeling that was gonna go ahead than this one.

I see its now on the OS

if it's cleared today i still think it could go ahead.the longer they leave it the lesser the chance though.
