I heard before Christmas from someone that I usually trust for a bit of gossip that we were going to sell JPM as he wasnt Danny Wilsons "type of player" but I dismissed it as nothing ever seem to happen about it.. But then now it seems maybe there is a glint of truth??
Is glint the right word to use in that sentence??

Sounds like it would be a great aquisition, would he play ahead of kev though?
Although the comepetition for Kev and JPM(if hes still here) would be good
Our squad is aslo starting to look rather strong, 1 or 2 more in backup could be useful though.

I am led to believe that both Blackpool and Sheffield Wednesday have been watching McGovern.
He's been very good for us this season hasn't he, would be a shame if he left.

JPM just isn't an out an out winger is he? Probably more suited to Sturrock-esque teams that like to tuck in and play narrow but Wilson like it wide and on the flanks.

I can't help but to think that Christiano Roberto would have flourished in a Wilson team. Shame.

he's the best wide player we've got though, i think it'd be a shame to get rid of him especially given we've got issues on the left with fitness

League one is Mcgovern level, I can't see him leaving for a higher Division team.

McGovern has been fucking class this year. Look how good he was against Fulham if you don't think he can hack it a league up. His link-up play with Antelope Amankwaah is first class. Lets hope JP isn't going

Hardly set the world a-light when he was at Bristol City in Wilsons team. I think Christian Roberts would have been shipped out like Macca. JPM being what 27/28 and with 6 months left on his contract is not going to command a big fee at all, infact we'd probably make more money keeping him - getting into the play offs (minimum two extra games, both on tv) plus the increase in gates if we kept winning/stay in the top 6. Plus, he's been our best player this season and has the most assists in the division, would be a huge loss.

usually your assimilation of views on here is pretty spot on, but this one has gone awry. mcgovern, along with douglas, is the absolute lynchpin of this team. it doesn't matter that he doesn't beat a full-back with pace because his delivery and link-up play are a class above

Where has the idea come from he's leaving anyway? Were only signing a right back to cover for Manky if he gets injured. We don't often offer new deals this early yet.

JPM is either putting himself in the shop window or proving to Wilson he is worthy of a new contract personally I cannot see Wilson letting him go unless he has let it be known he wants to move on, he is playing too well to allow a rival to sign him, and he is probably good enough for low end championship football as well, another reason to keep hold of him.
So JPM turns it on and off to suit himself? That's cuntish behaviour.
