I'm hoping we get more than 15 secs on Match of the Day tonight.

It's going to be a tough one!

But as Sam said, a good showing and a bit of a laugh as a minimum. Isn't it about time we actually caused an upset?

Not since 1988 have we beaten a top flight team in the FAC

Unlikely seeing as ITV have the FA Cup rights.

There can be few teams with such a poor Cup record in recent years.  I was thinking along the same lines yesterday, as it happens.  As someone who has been watching since 1990, I couldn't remember a single occasion where we had beaten a top flight club in the Cup.  Just had a look on soccerbase.com and see the game you're referring to was a replay against Norwich.  I also see that we drew Newcastle in the next round and got stuffed 5-0...an unfortunate result in more ways than one, as we were to find to our cost a couple of years later.

So when was the last time we beat a team from a higher division?  I think I remember getting a result against Southampton or Oldham (?) in the mid-1990s, but could be wrong.

Thank you for pissing on my rapidly waning bonfire.  As if being stuck at work wasn't bad enough...

One for the stattos then...have we ever beaten a team from two divisions higher than us, or even drawn?

(Obviously counting only the FA Cup here.  Our League Cup record in this respect is well known, even to those of us born after 1969.)

I knew this would happen.  Every other bugger has gone to the game.

The TEF is all mine.

One of my first games was the game vs Fulham in the 70's. We beat Moore, Best Marsh et al 5-0 Sure that was a Cup Replay

Currently on the coach and melting, the sun is out and I've got a few extra layers on.

I'll post some updates from the game if I can be arsed.

We drew with Southampton in 96. 1-1 Horlock for us and Gordon Watson for them. We were top of what is now L1 and they were in the Prem

Way back in the 20's I think we beat Newcastle United in the FA Cup 3rd Round.

Horrible weather in Newcastle today. Who else isn't at Fulham today? I looked at the trains and just couldn't afford it Sad
