and the 15 year old girl who won the 100m and 200m in the junior championships (never done before) is far more impressive than the kid who does a few sommersaults in to water.

All the people in the junior category had done remarkably well, but Daley was the only one who had to beat grown ups to win his title. I think he probably deserves credit for that.

The whole show was a crock though. The worst ever.

From the BBC figures released,Giggs won the vote by a surprisingly large margin.

Giggs received 29.4% of the vote (151,842 votes) ahead of Button (18.74% - 96,770) and Ennis (15.58% - 80,469) with a total of 516,473 votes cast.

Quite simply Man U fans voted for Giggs.  Probably the largest fan base of any club in the UK, particularly as the majority are Arm chair fans who would be likely to vote by phone. I would say the average voter was a ManU fan from Hertfordshire who has never seen them live.

I thought it was Sports PERSONALITY of the Year.

Hardly any people in sport have a personality. Well I haven't noticed much. Possibly Ian Botham and Chris Eubank but most of them are boring dedicated super fit bastards.

I'm happy to be corrected of course.

This is all about popularity, not personality.
