My new PC keeps freezing sometimes when on the internet today. I got to keep restarting.
I bought a new cordless mouse/keyboard today and just installed AVG free virus protection. Which one is likely to cause the problem?
I'm fucking angry....

Yes 64 bit. It's not the keyboard as I just changed it back.

If I go into remove programsand remove it, will it remove the problem or will I have to deleate folders etc?

Run windows uninstaller, reboot, then search for all folder and files with avg in them and delete

Go to control panel>System and security>Event logs

See if you have any errors (look at 'critical' first) then ones that are just 'error'.

Let me know if there's anything. Hopefully this may establish the cause.

Also it would be helpful to know what you're doing/what the computer is doing when it freezes?

i.e. are you browsing the internet; is win7 trying to auto update?

Does the screen freeze and the hard disk light come on constant? Have you tried leaving it for 10 minutes to see if it unlocks itself?

Also what wireless mouse keyboard are you using and did your install anything to get them working?

Have you had the swine flu vaccine? That is really, really a bad move. Have you realised just what the Lisbon Treaty is going to do the sovereignty of this country and your democratic rights? Have you taken the time to understand that the man made global warming bollocks really is a huge fraud that is going to impoverish you with vastly increased taxes and lifestyle control? If none of the above then just turn the fucking thing off and on again and don't worry about anything meaningful.

Love and kisses.

If it was amusing or original I wouldn't care, but leave the political bullshit out for once.

<Sigh, Si> It is not bullshit it is an observation. Pardon me for being more concerned about what is really happening in our lives rather than reality TV/X-Fuckedup/junk food/celebrity bollocks/multimedia/football/entertainment/filmsy filmsy films/home computers.

Ah well. Ok then, if it is brand new then throw it back at the place you bought it from. Oh and if you're running Windows 7 then you deserve to have problems.

It is a valid perspective voiced (well, typed) in an inappropriate place - if you want to change the world, the TEF, a light hearted Swindon Town FC internet forum, seems an odd place to start.
