I tried to emigrate once to Oz - wrong job(chartered surveyor - all those wasted years of training when I could have been a pastry chef or hairdresser or just something useful), not enough ££££, very very poor at drinking, not good enough at sport, crap at DIY, not loud and lairy ........the list goes on. Mind you most of the people of Perth are from Europe and it's bloody hot in their summer. Freemantle on a Sunday morning in cappuchino strip for an all morning breakfast was a highlight

The best bit about flying is when you crash and end up on a strange island

He is marrying his girlfriend of less than a year though. Mental.

Although Ive not been there yet I have no aspirations to live there I think some people hold this rose tinted view that everything is great there and just cause it's sunny nothing bad happens!!

Perth is great - try and go to Rottnest Island for a few days - brilliant - stragely like Scilly but with sunshine I went to Perth a few years back, was good.Rottnest Island has these amazing creatures called Quokkas, who have the run of the Island. If you go take plenty of fly spray though!Other great places are Scarborough beach and Cottesloe beach. Also the Zoo,they have a salt lake croc,he is beyond scary! The Sea-life centre is also a must see.I'd love to go back to Australia,if for no other reason than to feel like i've had a summer

They look a bit big to be seeing off with fly-spray http://scienceblogs.com/zooillogix/Quokka%202.jpg

That one seems to have lost its wings as well
Quokkas are also infested with salmonella bacteria - or at least that's what the guides tell you - possibly to stop the handling of them.
