I have just received the new epg on my sky+hd box, and since then ive been encountering a problem. Sometimes when i select an hd channel, the screen just goes green, you can hear the sound though. The only way to reset it is unplug the box and turn it on again. As ususal, sky customer service is something to be desired. Has anyone else had a similar problem to this?

The box is a samsung by the way

not had this before. have you tried doing a format of the system?

also turn off the little video on the channel selector. apparently this causes issues with lip sync etc. i know thats not what your encountering but you never know

funnily enough, if i play the sound through my surround system the words come out about a second after they have spoke.

i would rather not format box as i dont want to lose all the stuff i have saved on it

Are you connected via HDMI - I assume you must be since only the Thomson have component outs and they got the new EPG ages ago

Sorry dude, no suggestions other than connect direct to see if it helps (shouldn't make a difference).

And also is it a particular HD channel that causes the issue or any HD channel? The issues I pointed out seem to relate to ESPN.

ah see. maybe you should connect Sky hd straight into the TV. not sure how much picture quality (if any) you may lose with the HDMi box. the use the box for the other two

None.

I'd think this is a bug with the Samsung. I guess all you can do is keep badgering Sky CS.
