of help please..or advise...my battery is perm low(8%) while using it...dont even know if i can change the battery,dont think its the lead as ime still getting some power into the laptop..any advise please?

Laptop batteries are notoriously crap, maybe you need a new one.

Silly question again Red...is the battery the black box on the lead...or is it inside.

There should be a slide button or something similar on the bottom of the laptop which allows you to detach the battery...the black box with the power lead is not the battery, it's the power supply unit.

What's the make and model of your laptop?

There is a trick of freezing the battery to prevent it from having a memory but I think the reports of this working are a bit of folklore as I haven't ever had success.
