Wasn't Sabin on one of his penalty winning streaks? He seemed to win one every week around about that time.

Wolves and League Cup always reminds me of the semi final where we were cheated. Their keeper took Mayes out ala the Hun who took out the cheese eating surrender moneky in the World Cup. Then Emlyn and George Berry Berry took him out again.

Absolutely Bigbob, he'd done the same thing the previous match (another dive, but hey...)

we then got drawn away to West Brom in the next round. I remember it well as it was the day of the World Trade Centre attack and didn't see right playing football on that day.

That's right, I remember now.  We played really well that night too.

Carling cup on beeb 1 now.  What the hell is that Leicester kit!  Seems to be resurrecting the crystal palace diagonal stripe of the 70's.

Still have really good memories of putting them out at this stage in 2001 - about 250 of us outsinging 7000+ Wolves fans, brilliant night. Going out to West Brom just seemed irrelevant, having driven through rush hour Brum traffic listening to what was going on in the US unfolding, as wierd and unsettling a night as the night at Wolves was immense

Why did they seed teams then ? to protect the big boys and give them more of an advantage of going through to the next round, I think seeding is unfair, yep ok we could have drawn say Spurs at home which would have been a good draw financially, but equally if we had drawn someone like Accrington Stanley it would have given us a better chance of going to R3.

Seem to me it is just looking after the bigger teams in this cup, like they give a pass to the teams in europe...looking after the big boys

It was all too confusing, even Claire Tomlinson on Sky looked quite perplexed at one point.

It reminded me of my old Maths teacher who was once trying to explain algebra whilst not looking too confident - I had the sneakiest feeling that he was trying to explain something that didnt have a clue about himself.
