Vi er best i verden! Vi er best i verden! Vi har slått England 2-1 i fotball!! Det er aldeles utrolig! Vi har slått England! England, kjempers fødeland. Lord Nelson, Lord Beaverbrook, Sir Winston Churchill, Sir Anthony Eden, Clement Attlee, Henry Cooper, Lady Diana--vi har slått dem alle sammen. Vi har slått dem alle sammen. Maggie Thatcher can you hear me? Your boys took a hell of a beating!"

RIP Sir Bobby.
1990 was the first world cup I can remember, and still my favourite.

I was only 6 during Italia '90 but I remember much of it really well. The Cameroon and West Germany game in particular because even my mum (who loathes football and pretty much divorced my dad for making her go to fixtures such as Exeter away in the early 80's) was watching it. I was already watching football on tv pre-World Cup and often told of Oddly, the goal that sticks out most of all was Lothar Matthaus' against Yugoslavia (probably due to living in Fallingbostel at the time) but it's Sir Bobby Robson's work during that summer that made me beg my dad to take me a football match when I visit England next. It was Swindon vs. Port Vale - November 1990 RIP.
