What will be interesting this pre-season, and a measure of how far we have come, is whether or not we can keep a clean sheet, even against pony sides like Universitatea Craiova.

I know one other person that uses that word in that context. The first time I had no idea if pony was good or bad, but got the general idea later on. I know what it means now.

Think I've only ever used the slang terms 'boracic' and 'butchers' on a more than once basis.

The Romanian league is worse than the SPL no?

Depends on how you view "worse than" Craiova regularly get 25,000+ to home games so they have a large fan base, and Steaua and Dinamo Bucharest are regulars in the Champions league latter stages, which Celtic and Rangers rarely are....so I would say no its a higher standard of football than the Jocko Premier.......sorry to all the jockos out there Cheesy

Wouldn't worry how good they are it's a freindly. Fenerbache and Steau are better, but look how we did after those.

I agree but what I guess I am trying to get at is that just because some fans have not heard of these teams do not assume they are "pony", as more often than not they actually arent and are of a pretty good standard.

Game over it seems, ended 1-0. Nice.

Agreed, they are both pretty useful sides.

Albeit a pre-season friendly, still a good result against a good team, it all helps build up morale of the squad.

Just read the report on the adver, I think 2 or 3 replaced words would have made it sound like a Romanian porn movie! Cheesy

Just three minutes had gone when Jon-Paul McGovern's balls caused chaos in the Romanians' box and Sean Morrison was inches away from stabbing in at the rear.

I assume since nothing has been mentioned about Samba, he didn't do that well?

Only time he gets a mention on the Adver match report is in the team listings, so he can't have done anything horribly wrong or brilliantly right.

Well I am pleased we were able to maintain the shut out.

I think I am right in saying that last pre-season we did not achieve that until we played Plymouth U15s on the eve of the new season.

read somewhere he's got a dodgy back.

Already?

He'll be in a wheelchair come the end of the season if he plays every game in goal for us.
