Plymouth boss Paul Sturrock could be ready to smash the club's transfer record by paying Ipswich £1million for winger Danny Haynes.

The Pilgrims have been linked with the flying winger for the last few weeks but now reports in the press claim that a £1million offer is going to be made for the 21-year-old.

Following the arrival of Lee Martin at Portman Road it is thought that Ipswich boss Roy Keane is ready to sell Haynes and will cash in if Plymouth make a good enough bid.

Haynes can also play as a striker and would be the ideal signing for Pilgrims boss Paul Sturrock as he looks to bolster his attacking ranks

In Football Manager terms he's an AMR/ST.

Probably won't be coming here anyway though, so it doesn't matter if he's a Spider with the nickname 'Brutus' in all honesty.

... but it could matter if we signed arachnoid shape shifter Haynes aka Brutus and managed to get Samuel Eto'o (probably only on loan realistically?) to add a bit of culture to the team sheet and scare the wits out of Inter Milan's GK when we qualify for the Champions League.

Just thinking ahead, like.
