Well Cox is gone now (pretty much) so we have Paynter and Peacock up front. We know Billy P was a great player last season but I dare say he will get red carded a couple times meaning he misses a few games. I have no confidence that Peacock will score goals so who is available (NOT PARKIN) who can score at this level or are we going to go down the loan route? Quite concenred by the lack of goals now Cox is gone. A goalscoring midfielder would be good as well! Any decent strikers available out there? Colchester had a bid for Holt turned down so think that is a no-go......Our team on paper now, whilst better in midfield (if o brien comes off) and defensively (greer perm) and hopefully a fit Aljofree...... I still feel we will struggle to get over 15th without goals from other parts of the park as well as a decent forward up front.... Stuart Fleetwood an answer???

Fleetwood struggled on loan in league one last season. No thanks.

Its a tough one, every striker has a bad season or maybe more but can be rejuvinated by a move to a new club, people said they don't want Mangan from Forest Green because he has only scored a bagfull of goals in 1 season.

But Cureton and Thorpe were both reknown high scorers that did fuck all for us.

Cox was not prolific until he signed for us, Parkin the same.

You have to take chances on some players, especially if they are from lower leagues that don't command the wages that the "more prolific" experienced strikers would ask for.

Michael Owen was very prolific when at Liverpool and has pretty much failed to set the world alight since then but Man United are willing to take a gamble on him regaining his form, it doesn't always work but sometimes it does.

I am not over enamoured with Fleetwood but look who he was on loan at last year, probably had a poor service at Chelt and Brighton, with a better service he could do better.

Jury is definatly out on Fleetwood though IMO.

Fleetwood?!?! I've said it before and I'll say it again, not good enough for league 1.

Dean Bowditch would be worth a punt not as our main striker but certainly as good competition.

Get simon church in, even if it's only on loan. Played brilliant against us last season

What about Lee Hughes?
Currently out of contract.
Admittedly has a load of baggage and is a complete nutjob, but if bangs in 20-25 goals, who would give a fuck about his past?

He was on loan there until the end of last season, but I think he's now unattached.

I think Fleetwood would be a gamble. I agree with Dave, Simon Church would be a great signing, even if it was on loan.
