If he had a host of clubs waiting he would not have bothered turning up. He would of had a rough idea what we are offering before he came down

Would be a nice two fingers to those Leeds fans if he came here DRS...was reading the fans on the Leeds forum and they were taking the piss saying we had no chance..kind of player we are desperate for imo.

I am just going to wait and see what happens.

Is Kenneth Ryder still scouting for us?

I'm gonna remain excited about it and if it doesn't happen then oh well, and forget the fingers to leeds, much more important to give them to the clowns on thisis.

Would be a striling Indictment for other targets if he signed too.

It would be a good signing.

He strikes me as the kind of player Paul Smith could have been for us... if he wasn't 20 stone over weight, very injury prone and 300 years old.

he is a good player and would be a good signing, he has been in his hometown for the past month or so and actually played soccer a soccer match for his local club in a friendly / cup challenge game on wednesday night. His younger brother is quite a good striker too. He came off shortly after half time for another pro player who has recently moved from wolves to bolton, although he is only 17 but played awesomly well. not many amateur teams able to do that very often  Wink

Good luck affording his wages, reportedly 10k a week at leeds

We could be considering giving him a big signing on fee, then lower wages?

More good work by Wilson. Just to get him down here.

What we need is another player like Tommy Mooney. Where you can see a real leader from his very first game down here. If Douglas can come down and show he is a class act from the off then everyone will forget about wages straight away, fans and players.

Obviously there is a reverse scenario as well.

Just a thought re wages and signing on fees, clearly releasing 13 players and selling Cox for 2.5 million is going to free up a fair bit of cash. The squad is going to be much smaller this season and so we might be able to be fairly competitive with other clubs on the wages front. Clearly we aren't going to be able to compete with Huddersfield as they are too ace but we might surprise a few clubs with our wage budget.
