For Parkin to hang around at STFC for 3 seasons, and bang in over 20 goals every season when the Club was in the state that it was in....

Until the current team started to get together over the last year and a bit (& Cox last season), Parkin stood out absolutely head & shoulders on his own when you look at the last decade or so. Not one single other player in a Town shirt has come even close to being called anything like memorable in a long long time. What Mooney did for that 1 season was (in my mind) completely nullified by his next 'career' decision. Some people say that Invincibile is a legend for THAT goal vs Peterborough, but he was an inconsistent, lazy fucking crim most of the time, and judging by what I saw on tv the other day (Kilmarnock/Aberdeen) he hasn't changed one bit.

Parkin gave us 1 thing to smile about - for a significant amount of time - during some grim ol' days.

If you haven't watched, his performance against Boro looked very good. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/8628504.stm

Paul Edwards, who let us not forget was clearly too good for us, is now turning out for Barrow.
