"Take your gloves off for the lads."
Hereford fans to Swindon's Sofine Zaaboub. On a blazing hot day when players were stopping frequently for drinks, he was possibly the only player in the country to be wearing gloves! (David Tingle, England).

He had some dodgy skin condition on his hands apparently...

What about Super Sam?

A bit off topic, but I think the way Sam's career has panned out is a real shame.  The player we saw had so much potential, he exuded class beyond his years and the level he was playing at.  I think early injury problems at Ipswich really ruined a great opportunity for him, and perhaps he has never really recovered from that.

I hope he gets on tomorrow, even if only for his usual 5 minutes. Think I'm right in saying it would be his first competitive return to the CG?

I'll give the bloke a standing ovation. Fucking legend and I'm genuinely gutted at how rotten his luck has been since leaving us.

I'd echo that. Sadly, it could be the last chance he gets to come back as a player. All the more reason to show our appreciation.

Yeh you're right, it's been a long time coming.

3 points for the Town tomorrow, and a Kammy-sized ovation for SSP would be just perfect.

Depending on where your confusion lies, either Chris Kamara or Sam Parkin.

Well the thread had moved on to Sam Parkin..........and that's as much help as I'm going to give you.

Cox, Paynter and Austin have made the Parkin era quite distant for me now.

Parkin was both brilliant and committed to Swindon - but even he must wonder what the hell happened.

I think for me I will always remember the Parkin era. He was one of very few players that actually gave a shit about this club during some dark days under the old ownership. We weren't really very successful at all (except the play-off season in 2004) but he stuck with us for 3 years and kept banging in the goals. His attitude was top notch. I'm sure he'll get a superb reception today but let's hope he doesn't fucking score.

I hope Super Sam comes on - when we are ideally 3 nil up so theres no risk of him coming on and scoring a winner or salvaging a point!

Like something has to be proven for a Football Crowd to chant it.
