Jake Hyde, a blond 6 - feet tall striker from Swindon Town, is set to sign for Barnet.

Is this a football site or a dating agency?

Well if any club is to talk about hair - it'll be Barnet.

That made me laugh possibly more than it should have.

Me too, I don't laugh out loud too often at stuff I read on the net but I have to say that - rather embarassingly - got me good.

What ever happened to the foreign legion brought in by the Portugeezers?

Does anyone remember the Adver mentioning that there were Brazilian youth players arriving at the club during that era?  I always wondered if that was utter bollocks or if there was ever anything to it.

I think the whole thing was a bad dream that we all just happened to have at the same time, makes me shudder where we'd be now if they were in charge.

If it had been Edwards Hyde, we should have kept him.

Spoke to Jake 2 weeks ago he told me it was between Barnet and Wycombe, a lot closer to his home so less travelling, good luck to him, not the best player in the youth/reserves but could do well.

Poor lad, can't be much fun for him.  He'll allways be a figure of fun at all of those clubs mentioned however.

How many other players have played for that many clubs?  Trev Benjamin?  Steve Claridge?

I remember meeting a Brentford director a month or so after we loaned Fola to them, and asked how he was getting on there. He replied, with a grimace, "You really stitched us up there, didn't you?" (or words to that effect). I took that to mean he hadn't been a smash hit
