Did Wile E Coyote ever catch roadrunner, even if he escaped again?

Jimmy Davis 21 years ago today RIP

We were talking about this earlier.

Baking hot day against Sheffield Wednesday, who had a huge following. Got to the ground and it was a surreal experience. News was a little vague but it was clear there was some tragic news and the sad passing of Jimmy was being discussed by fans all around me in the DRS.

Totally understandable that the players minds were elsewhere as we went 2 down very early, weirdly I remember Shefki Kuqi's bellyflop celebration in front of the Town End but little else. We fought back but lost 3-2

I remember how shell shocked the players looked during the 1st half. They all did absolutely amazing to not only play that game but very nearly complete the come back in the 2nd half.

I’m sure someone threw there season ticket on the pitch when we went 3-0 down.

Just shows how long ago it was - that I was at the game but hadn’t heard of Jimmy’s passing. I remember hearing some rumours of a Watford player passing & their game being cancelled.

Wasn’t till I got home and checked Teletext that I actually saw Jimmy’s name attached to the report.

Weird how something can feel so recent and so distant at the same time, it really was a different world back then. What a game that was... baking hot, so nearly came back to 3-3 from 0-3 down. Sammy Igoe had the best Town debut I can remember. People say you can't read too much into opening day results which is true up to a point but that was certainly a harbinger of things to come...

Yes they did. IIRC it was from the lower tier of the DR towards the TE.

I thought it came from the town end but it was in that corner.
