TBF, Twine did look pretty decent in the highlights of the game last night, he put a great ball through for their 2nd? goal yesterday and also set up their first by keeping a ball in play with a header at the far post.

Can we do a Bradford/Rotherham if he has a bloody good run up to January?

Do we know for a fact that we did this to Spurs anyway? And if we did, to what extent?

I know we sold Gladwin with Luongo in a double deal, and it certainly appeared at the time that we did Spurs up like a kipper, but was it definitely the case?

However traditionally we acquired players from Spurs, now we never seem to

TT went from Spurs 2014.... ML and BG transfer was 2015.   Even before TT we'd always signed players from Spurs, also a few ex Spurs players as managers, can't think of any since 2015, although it could be memory fade.

Double transfers will become the new norm to avoid sell on fees.

I wouldn’t be surprised if clubs start keeping hold of a couple of 18-22 year olds, on minimum wage, who are no where near good enough - just to sell them off in a deal with the in demand player with a sell on.

I guess when we did it - it felt a bit Robin Hoodish, robbing from rich Spurs. This way it’s the opposite, money bags Derby stuffing little old struggling Swindon.

Reap what you sow I suppose. Like I said this wasn’t the first nor the last time a sell
on fee was avoided. New normal.

Reminds me there was a classic example of this some years ago, but can't think of who was involved, but from memeory the authorities moved quickly to prevent a repeat.

Erm, we signed ML from Spurs in 2013 as part of the tranche we got when Tactics Tim was there, when we came to sell him TS had gone and thus there was no link to sour by fucking them over.

So that’s all right then, is it?  I think that if STFC is playing with the big boys then we need to make sure we’re playing by their rules.  If we try to be clever and screw Spurs or whoever Then we really mustn’t be surprised if someone screws us.  The way to avoid this might be to build some sort of “no joint sell-on” proviso into the contract when we sell a player with real potential.  Easy to be wise after the event!!

Will be interesting to see how this plays out and if they do try to stiff us whether there is any kind of recourse with either the EFL or legal avenues. Derby despite winning the appeal over their points deduction must be under some scrutiny so I'm not sure they'd want to give anyone yet more ammunition to fire at them for 'dodgy' financial dealings.

They'd surely be playing havoc with the spirit of the academy player rules as well?...

That TT had left Spurs before we sold ML so he provided the link to get ML and others but there is no evidence to suggest that the sale of ML skewed our pitch with them.
