Theo Robinson released by Southend.

Weird one given he did half decent for their rivals in the same division. Can imagine he'll go to Col U permanently.

Not so weird, he left Southend due to some ongoing racism issues there. I remember in an early season report and Robinson did say something along the lines of being racially targeted by the Southend fans. Family were in the stands and they were also targeted too. I'll try and find the article.

So no surprise he hasn't re-signed with Sarf. Could still do a job in L1. Felt there was a little unfinished business here with us but as you say, will likely stick around at Col Utd; unless a L1 club comes in for him.

Edit: Found it. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/aug/05/kick-it-out-demands-action-after-series-of-alleged-racial-abuse-allegations-football

What is quite alarming is the amount of related articles at the bottom concerning racism in football. While sadly not a shock,  around four of them were within a couple of month of this one.

Would imagine he would siģn for them given the opportunity.   Said that he went there originally as located close to home,  so see no reason why he wouldn't sign given the option.  Could be a good back up player here, but really can't see that happening.

If we hadn't signed Grant then he would be a decent signing, too similar in style to Grant but Grant being far better.

We should have signed Ince instead of Toums.

Ince stood out in a poor team.
He hasn’t made much impact in his moves since being with us, which makes me wonder whether or not he is a not a good influence off the field.
Grant clearly has had some issues elsewhere, but has been excellent here - I don’t recall Ince dominating games in the way Grant does. I also remember Ince being substituted to avoid him being sent off in one game at the CG - I contrast that with Grant who at least once was booked early and still had his normal influence on the game and never looked like getting a second yellow.
The only counter argument is that Grant is an experienced player, when here Ince was at a very early point in his career.

Not a player, but Ray Murphy, our Club Secretary, has left to take a similar post at Sunderland.

More spleen venting on Wearside as he was, previous to us, Club Secretary at Eastleigh and undoubtedly mates with the ex piss stains duo Donald Duck and Charlie Drake who are in the process of right royally fucking up Sunderland

James Milner becomes (by my reckoning) only the second English player to pick up a Premier League winners medal with two different clubs.

True!

Although I am not sure what job exactly a "club secretary" does, always seems to be a fairly important job but no idea what they are responsible actually for doing.
