I'm with Venkman, I saw pretty much every minute he played and it's very rare to see a midfield player as far off the pace as May was. It wasn't just a yard he was yards from intercepting or making tackles at times and he seemed unable to head the ball. The only tackle I remember him making was on Woolery to stop him going clean through in a game. He may as well not been on the pitch against Northampton when he started that game.
Wellens obviously believed he was of little and use in the end as he could have rotated the 5th loan spot but clearly he didn't think it was worth it. Will be very interesting if he plays against us this season as I think with our quick passing game we'd just have him running in circles.

If a player is poor he's poor and should be allowed to be called such, it's nothing to do with scapegoating he was just terrible in every appearance for us.

Nothing concrete yet about him moving anyway.

From Kenny Jackett earlier today.

Quote
Portsmouth’s Kenny Jackett has stated that there have been some enquiries for Adam May since returning from an unsuccessful loan spell at Swindon.

May wasn’t used much at Swindon and featured just 13 times, with only five of the appearances coming from the start of a match.

The 22-year-old is now set to represent the under-23 side in a match with Doncaster on Tuesday night.

He’s unable to play in the EFL Trophy game with Scunthorpe tonight as it would mean that he would have played for two sides in the Football League already this season, meaning he couldn’t go on loan and represent a third.

Jackett has expressed that here have been a couple of enquiries here and there but nothing substantial that suggests May will leave anytime soon.

Speaking to the Portsmouth News, Jackett said: “Adam is back with us, back training and will play for our under-23s tonight at Havant & Waterlooville.

“There have been some enquiries into his agent and to the club, but there is nothing concrete yet.

“We’re just waiting if maybe it’s this or maybe it’s that.”

Mbappé may well be the next Pelé but he isn't a patch on the Ginger Pelé!

I'm with Venkman

So you think on the basis of one league start and a handful of league minutes, he's one of the worst players in our history  Hmmm

very reasonable

I’m with Reg on this one. I don’t rate him on what I’ve seen - but he’s not had much chance.

+1 on agreeing with PV, May was dog shit whenever he played, I am glad he didn't get any more time on the pitch.

From what little I saw of him, I saw no reason to play him again. I can't recall a single positive thing he did.

As others said, he might do well for another team. Maybe he needs to play in a more basic, physical role, but he was woeful for us.

'Aguero, Solskjaer or Pook - who scored the greatest injury-time goal?'

What a fantastic headline to see!

Seemed like 10 mins into added on at the time, but in reality was probably 90+1

93rd minute..

Wasn't Aidy Boothroyd a massively sour cunt after the match too?
