I am probably going to get shot down here, but I have a feeling Nicky Ajose maybe one of the marquee signings Wellens was talking about.

He only seems to have found his feet at Swindon and he could be the (20 goal a season) striker we have been crying out for.

He was only a bit part under Flitcroft at Mansfield.

Nicky was the last STFC man to score 20+ in a season.... we finished 15th, albeit in Div 3.   The reason why Nicky has never really done it, is because he's a goal hanger... most modern gaffers mistrust this type of player..... maybe use them as a sub when chasing a game.

He did well under Luke, as his remit wasn't about winning games, but polishing turds.... Power made £750K on that.   TBF since the drop to Div 4, Power does seem to have binned that approach for something a bit more pragmatic.

I was surprised he didn't move earlier. Maybe no interest?
I’m sure I read Leeds were linked, although I can’t recall for certain and I know they signed a keeper from Real Madrid in the last window which suggests he won’t be off there.

PV? You are usually well up to date in terms of football league comings and goings so can you shed any light on Wes’ next move..

I do read a lot of other teams forums, there seems to be no clues regarding Wes's next destination, although a lot of Rangers fans are disappointed he is leaving especially after his poor start to his Rangers career, hes fairly well liked there now.

That's Tom Smith and Miles Storey both available for transfer. May as well go the whole hog and get Anton Rodgers as well, who must be pretty bored by now.

The next big thing when he was 16, sadly didn't make the grade with Man City.  Who knows what would have happened if he had knuckled down and not gone for the glory?

Probably signed already for Supermarine like the rest of the ex Town youngsters.

I suppose he is an ex now. Cryptic from Lancashire

‘The captaincy was something I enjoyed doing. It is a tough football club to be captain of in terms of things that go on behind the scenes, but it is something I very much enjoyed, and it was a pleasure to be captain.’
