I’d go as far as to say after Hoddle & Fjortoft,  Walters is the most talented player I’ve seen in a Town shirt

I remember one sublime chip, Bolton at home I think and he scored a few screamers elsewhere too.
Little jinks here and there and so much skill, a real entertainer.

Mark was a talented player and fun to watch.... Town fans up to that point always had a bit of a soft spot for an enigmatic winger.  Not sure I'd quite rate him that highly in the pantheon, and I'm not including players back into my early years. For example I'd have Mickey Hazard above JAF.

Mark, though does sort of give us an indicator to our current situation.

A player of his class, although past 30 when he came to us, wasn't cheap, those late 90's years, were about spending money we didn't have to get someone of his talent.

Crowds were around 8000 average.... when we had the odd good spell, we might get 10,000, but that'd soon drop off, when as more often happened it was poor.  The upshot was Admin, and Mark was freed off to Rovers. The response to Admin in 99/00 was to sell anything that could be sold, and relegation duly happened. In other words second tier football was unsustainable, and we've not been back.

I'm sure we'd all like to see the modern day equivalent of MW.... but we'll have to settle for Matty Taylor, because as he's that bit older we can afford him.

I remember that one. Hit the crossbar on the way in in front of the bank if I remember rightly?? Also scored a free kick against Bolton past Jaaskelainen in front of the TE & a 40 yard free kick against WBA at the Bank end.

Jon Obika does his ACL and is out for the rest of the season.

The irony? Done in a friendly against us.

Out of contract end of season too.

LOLz. At least now he'll have time to think long and hard about some of the decisions he's made in his life.

No sympathy from me either. That's got to be the end of him in the FL. He might get a gig at somewhere like Barnet, if he's lucky (which he usually is).

More importantly, did they beat us again?

What was a 28 year old doing playing in an u23 game anyway?

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned on here, but Louis Thompson dislocated his shoulder Tuesday, less than a minute after coming off the bench.
Not having much luck is he.

He isn't.

But did it not happen shortly after him signing a 4-year contract? It could have been much worse.

Would love to see him making a full recovery. He really excited me as a player when he was here.
