Brad Smith joins Seattle Sounders in MLS on loan from Bournemouth.

He'll get to play in front of big crowds again.

My favourites for relegation along with Rotherham this season.

That's awful. At least he's still alive though - a friend of a friend dropped dead at 34 the other day due to a burst blood vessel in the brain. He'd just started a family.

I see Martin Allen there. Didn't realise he was up North and at another Conference club after taking Barnet down. Also found this whilst reading about his patchy career:

"After leaving Leicester (August 2007), Allen declared his interest in managing Swindon Town,[26] which eventually went to Maurice Malpas. "

It is awful but caught in time so hopefully be no serious after effects.

I was unaware of Martin Allen being interest in the Town job, bullet dodged IMO but he has had some success elsewhere in that time.

That was funny as fuck, he felt he was a shoe in for the job until the board heard about his antics! he doesn't/didn't live far away at the time and said he was just watching a local game with his kids and nothing to do with his job application IIRC.

Don't think so, although my memory isn't what it used to be.

The Bristolian has been linked to the job since he was spotted in the stands last month, and following the termination of Maurice Malpas’ contract yesterday, Holloway’s agent Robert Segal told the Advertiser his client is heavily drawn to the vacancy.

I think he had not long purchased a house in Yatton Keynell around that time too.

I remember the rumour was that he balls'd the interview by being too confidant.

Ah, my mind is failing me then.

They told him their secrets and then didn't give him the job?

I think the rumour was more that he was wise-cracking and not taking it seriously enough.
