I think its easier to pick on what Flitcroft did well than actualyl count his numerous flaws.

I will start.

Positive number 1.

We've done this all before, but Flitcroft came into a club that had just got relegated with what was regarded by many as the worst side in living memory, and that's saying something.   The management set up a complete shambles, questions over training facilities, no pre-season friendlies in place, back room staff gone, further a squad short of about a good dozen players. He came into it late, therefore the priority was to try and stabilise, build a side more suited to Div 4, as the Swindon Way of Power had to be binned for fear of losing league status.

He largely managed that... for sure he's not Ferguson, but he left us in a PO slot, and largely better off than what he found... so he did OK in my book. Brown mentioned how unusual it was to inherit a side in such propitious circumstances.

For all that I don't much like Flitcroft, think Reg is largely right tbf. It could very easily have gone considerably worse

Yes, Vigs is a dick, but that's down to Flitcroft to manage that. Man-management is a core skill of being a manager, and one Flitcroft clearly lacks

Can't disagree there. Certainly didn't mean to imply otherwise anyway Smiley

Totally agree with Reg.

You would think he was the worse manager we’ve had for years the way some people talk.  He was an average manager for us, we have had far far worse in recent memory

You have to go back as much a season to find a worse one.

Still hope he falls flat at Mansfield mind.

Oh I am not disputing that, I think his own self worth far outweighed his ability, far more flaws than plus points for me and jumped ship as soon as the going got a bit tough, to hopefully another sinking ship (in a few months time).

Average manager who do an OK job here, but doesn't remove the fact that he seems an obnoxious and arrogant twat rather lacking in the career to back up that opinion of himself!

Yes, if the choice was from  Flitcroft, Malpas and Williams

Indeed, this is exactly the point that most people are trying to make.

My arse was twitching like a rabbits nose at the real possibility of dropping out the league....

The rot was stopped.

After the previous shambles we became a good side...but only great sides ones go up.

Poor old Luke.... wasn't really a manager, strangely ended up in my local one night back in the autumn.... his thoughts on Lee Power were interesting.  Smiley
