Natural goalscorer was definitely his niche.  Like Robbie Fowler.  No great pace but such a nose for goal.

I was very impressed when he came back with Burnley, we gave him a heap of abuse and he took it, scored but lost, then came to the town end not with abuse but appreciation which we reciprocated.  He looked a player fit to lead a line then whereas when we had him he seemed less of a presence.

Hope he manages to string some games together because as we've said, if he plays he will score.

Could well be right. Over my years we've had something like 16 or so 20 goals a season strikers.  Some at times for Town like Simon Cox looked better than CA, but never quite did it elsewhere, others like Chalky White had good numbers at below top flight, and actually got more clinical as he got older, but needed plenty of chances to score.

Duncan Shearer and Jimmy Quinn both had a wider range of goals than Charlie, having shots like the proverbial mule.

Nicky Ajose would be a classic example, a clinical finisher at Town seems unable to fit in elsewhere.

...also Sam Parkin and,for one season,Chris Hay

Not sure if Rory Fallon has been mentioned here... sorry if I'm repeating old news

Knew about the ice cream stuff, that's been going a while. But not seen the interview, that's a good read.

Gary Roberts has come on for Wigan. Is that Nathan Byrne who played for us also playing?

Dreadful challenge that. Got the assist for Will Grigg's goal in the first half too though, in the interest of balance! I was at the game and thought Byrne looked very average on the whole. Then again, in their system he wasn't given the same freedom to attack that he had at Town.

Byrne is average, those players around him in the play off season made him look better than he was.

Austin has been plagued with injuries for the last year or so, in fact he's been plagued with injuries most of his career but there is no denying when he plays he has a fantastic goal scoring record.

Ironically or those injuries start with his shoulder injury against.....Southampton....

One of 3 best finishers in my time supporting Swindon - others being Parkin and Eastoe, with Mayes and Cox not far behind.

Blasphemy. I think you're missing the best one.
