Indeed, although interesting that the club have not commented upon the fans abusing and throwing things at their own players.

Connor Thomas makes his debut in the new Indian Super League season. A few well known names from yesteryear in the other team.

Cautious 5-5-0 formations there

Fankaty Dabo doing bits in the Eredivisie.

Unfortunatley it was his own goal.

Keeper didn't exactly pull out the stops either, did he.

Keeper didn't exactly pull out the stops either, did he.

Keeper cannot touch it though as a back pass so not a huge amount he could do (although catching it and conceding the free kick would have seemed the obvious solution), comedy of errors starting with them giving him the ball where he could do nothing with it, a shit first touch making it worse then a worldy finish.

"...The offense rests on three events occurring in the following sequence:

*The ball is kicked (played with the foot, not the knee, thigh, or shin) by a teammate of the goalkeeper,

*This action is deemed to be deliberate, rather than a deflection or miskick, and

*The goalkeeper handles the ball directly (no intervening touch of play of the ball by anyone else)

When, in the opinion of the referee, these three conditions are met, the violation has occurred. It is not necessary for the ball to be “passed,” it is not necessary for the ball to go “back,” and it is not necessary for the deliberate play by the teammate to be “to” the goalkeeper."

The keeper could've in the very least attempted to flick/punch it over the bar. Even heading it over. In this instance I feel the ref would've seen the actions by Dabo to be deemed as a miskick. Because (in the rules of the game) the player would not be deliberately trying to score an own goal. Even if he and his keeper had agreed this in secret. The referee would be applying the laws of the game. All three conditions must be met to deem a "back pass" has been committed. The keeper should've palmed it over.

He didn't. Great goal. Obviously got it in his locker. Just needs to replicate it at the other end. I've scored an own goal playing before and it's not a nice feeling. Gut wrenching. That's in front of only say 200 people. This must be much worse when it's not only seen by thousands live but also a worldwide audience. I'm sure he'll still sleep at night when he checks his bank balance though  Pint Pint

I know he was linked with us before he signed for Oxford, but Christian Ribeiro retires with a knee injury aged 27
