Let us spend three pages listing Chinese footballers very short names. Elsewhere, Callum Kennedy is 90 minutes away from a Wembley appearance.

As is Jake Reeeeeves. It was interesting watching CK last night. I was hopeful that he'd be a good player for us, but it didn't quite work out. Nevertheless he's good enough to make a decent living out of playing, and don't think he'd look out of place at the CG if we decided on a back 4 next season.

Andrew Black and Jed really fucked over there. A cheap cash deal with no sell-on clause.... Brilliant!

It was about getting the most cash up front in the shortest possible time. Even Jed could see it was a shit deal, but it kept the threat of administration at bay.

If Power did the same thing he would be crucified. No matter what the circumstances were it was a shit deal

The threat of administration that was actually largely a notional one concocted by Black to force Fitton and Wray to agree to not block the sale of the club. They were both shit deals, both forced through with no regard to the interests of the club because Black had had enough

Ironically if he'd had a bit of patience and done a proper deal for Richie, he'd probably be getting a fair chunk of what he lost back shortly.

If Power did the same thing he would be crucified. No matter what the circumstances were it was a shit deal if I sounded like I was defending the deal then I'm not. I'm mightily pissed off at Black over bailing in the way he did. All I was trying to give was context, that they weren't seeking the best deal, just the biggest lump sum up front. it was always a shit deal, then and now. my gut feel is Black would have pulled the plug regardless of the consequences, and that with the spend we had, coupled with the fact Black stitched us up with Jed, I do feel it was heading to admin. though with Jed in charge the truth may not have been portrayed !

The Ritchie deal was first suggested in the Autumn of 2013 and didn't we reject an offer early in the window.
I was thinking yesterday if we had accepted the deal earlier and negotiated it properly could that money have given the Black the breathing space financially to have held on to the end of the season?
It would also have forced the issue earlier with PdC whether he wished to stick it out and, if he had gone, make a more measured appointment rather than the rushed KMac in March.
Half the issue with Black was the baggage/stress with PdC chopping and changing of the squad costing money all the time. You'd have thought any half decent League 1 manager might have taken on that squad under the Black structure.
All its and ands now but a Sliding Doors moment in STFC history!
