Glad he's finally worked out what 'north' means. Good job Michael.

Michael Smith -> Northampton Smiley

Is this to suggest that Michael Smith is better or greater than Northampton?

The type of signing that a lot of fans would be happy with, but is in fact a terrible panic buy, on a 2.5 year deal.

Saw a local reporter in Southend's Twitter feed during the day, it was just a list of their targets and the other clubs they were signing for during the day. I saw six names mentioned at about midday. I've heard that many clubs try to have a list of seven or eight targets for a position but it they must have been waaay towards the bottom of that list.

 Matt Ritchie.....salmon like leap at back stick to get the better of Darnell Furlong, for a rare headed finish.

This was probably brought up at the time, but there was a ginger-haired Geordie on Homes Under the Hammer who said he played for us but didn't work out.

Any ideas who?
