Things can only get better

He was a big lad! one problem was that we had a terrible side that year, when he came in I thought he did ok but was never gonna be a world beater, I do remeber him scoring a couple of brilliant headers from corners but also he got sent off last game of the season away at Bury which was one of the worst games I have ever been to, the only game ever that I left early from!

I do remember he had a rather large forehead too Cheesy

Heres one of his headed goals.

Don't remember him playing in his Y-fronts, though.

3,645 crowd - those were the days!

Yep, use that one all the time.

That Ian Seymour fella on HTV, was beyond terrible....in the days when videos first appeared, I used to tape all those little HTV/Points West slots, and Seymour just used to make error after error, on players names etc.

Think his scripts were written by Roger Malone.

I remember him playing, in an unfamiliar left centre back role, man marking Jermaine Defoe out of the game when he was on loan at Bournemouth. Perhaps his best performance for us. I also remember what I think was his debut at the Manor. He was fine, the day was dreadful. There was a time when it was thought he would go on to far better things than a move to Luton.

I wondered how he was getting on, fearing he was on a one-way road downwards. Good to hear he's on the mend. I hadn't thought that alcohol might have played a role, even if he was a landlord. Sounds like this shock to the system might have been good for all his family in the end.

How dare you cast aspersions!!

It was Gus I knew more than John, and seeing that this was all back in the days before email etc there wasn't much way to keep in touch.
