I'm at Farnborough vs Havant & Waterlooville (Conference South). And nearly choked on my pint when they read out the teams. Alan Connell lining up for H&W. Only 10 mins in, to be fair, but so far he's done bugger all.

Connell subbed after 70 mins.  Clearly not match fit.  Seems H&W signed him as a free agent yesterday and put him straight in to the starting line up.  One of my favourite players from the PDC promotion season, so sad to see the decline.

I'll check their fixtures out and go have a watch, be good to see if he can still storm down the wing

How did Brian Dutton play for Havant? Their no 5 playing centre half (I think), got booked late on.

Hameur Bouazza, following in the footsteps of Frédéric Darras and Philippe Cuervo, now playing for Red Star in France.

H&W managed to sign Brian Stock from Burnley in the summer too. They must be paying decent wages for that level!

Didn't Hamdi Razak go there as well? ( he didn't even get a mention in the obscure thread did he)

Speaking of obscure Frenchies, I see Sebastien Ruster's career never came to much. Makes a mockery of the huge price tag that was being asked for him. I remember watching him at Wycombe away. I think that was the game we got stuffed, FA Cup maybe?

We've had a few Frenchmen down the years, and I think it's fair to say, we've not had much use out many of them.  You could argue that Miguel Comminges, who had 1 decent season, might be classed as French, but he came from Guadeloupe.

Now the French still have a system where many vestiges of empire are still classed as being a French department, and Guadeloupe, is one such....but does being a Guadelooper make you a Frenchman?

Yes. Guadeloupe is as French as the Isle of Man is British.
