Part of me hopes it's all part of some elaborate plot to get him here with minimal outlay.

However I doubt we could afford the actual asking price after the shenanigans Ipswich pulled last January. Davison scored more, but Simpson was the better foil for McKirdy in my opinion last season, and would give us our central player to play Wakeling and Mckirdy off.

I'm not fooling myself thinking he will end up here, but there's always hope...

He is not staying at the Tractor Boys, too toxic it seems. The TB could be belligerent and say fuck you you’re staying and training with the stuffs till January or May. I doubt that, they don’t want him and he doesn’t want to stay. Sure he’d play for them if the needed him to but the clearly don’t on many levels. The big question is, where to?

I'd have Simpson back in a heartbeat which I know some wouldn't.

If it goes to tribunal I suppose not playing for a year would drop the compensation value? In recent times we have done much more for his development than them.
