5 isn't it? 8 in total, 5 in the MDsquad and 3 signed up so far?

Leon Clarke is training with BRovers.

Imagine him and PPP lumbering around the pitch.

Andy Lonergan to Everton

He has got to be one of the highest paid not in matchday squad GKs in the top flight. Considering his age, when the Liverpool "move" first came about, I bet he couldn't believe his luck. I'm sure he only made the squad a handful of times.

Be interesting how the move transpires at Everton; he's hardly going to dislodge Pickford and then there is Begovic anyway. I'm sure he's back up to some young youth team GK.

Yes, that’s the whole point of that kind of player at that kind of squad. Brought In to do all of the shit-jobs whilst being Experienced to offer guidance in training and not completely incompetent. Being British probably helps against some kind of quota also

It’s a common phenomenon of the game at that level, see Scott Carson, Rob Green and Lee Grant who’ve done similar. Fair play to them

Did Richard Wright do similar at Man City too? Got a feeling he did.

Stuart Taylor must be the ultimate in making a career as a third choice keeper. Less than 100 appearances in a 20 odd year career.
Possibly still quite a lucrative gig in the PL era.
Failing to make a start while on loan at Yeovil must have been a low point though.

Richard Wright had a good career at Ipswich.
May have expected another couple of hundred appearances at least on top of his final total. Nothing at Man City in his last 3 or 4 years as a pro.

Steve Harper was slightly different in that he seemed like a decent keeper, was always second choice - an admirable deputy but never quite good enough to be Newcastle #1 but probably could have been a solid first choice else where if he’d left sooner.

All the other keepers mentioned have been bought into clubs well above their station once they are well past their prime & as third choice.

I see the BFG got MOM in my footy app in Swansea's beating of the Brizzle City.
