Friends of mine did a Jungle theme - pretty easy to do as people can paint faces etc. and wear animal print clothing!

Looked great!

For the one and only fancy dress party that I co-hosted, we had a rock/music 'legends' theme. Was good fun, though most people were lame and didn't make it the whole night. The hardcore few - Me (Shane MacGowan) and Axl Rose made it until about 6am, Courtney Love managed to last until about 5am.

strip naked, hollow out a potato, stick it on your old fella, and go as a dictator. Failing that, toga,toga,toga.

reminds me of the old joke ;

Two Jamaican guys get invited to a fancy dress party where the theme is "moods". When they ring the doorbell, the host is shocked to see both of them naked, one with a pear on his dick and the other with his dick in a bowl of thick, yellow liquid, and asks what the hell is going on. To which the first Jamaican says "The theme is moods, right mon? I'm "deep in dis pear!" The host concedes that that is a mood and asks the second Jamaican what mood he's supposed to be. To which Jamaican #2 says "I'm fucking dis custard!"

Soup. Everyone has to come dressed as a different soup. And no gazpacho, that doesn't count
