Any Whisky experts on here?

I need to find a reasonably priced 21 year old bottle of Whisky, 21 is the key part.

Any suggestions?  Can I get one for round about £30 or is that unlikely?

All the ones Ive seen seem to be up to 18 years then they jump in price!

I'd say.................................No. Get him a voucher.

Can't claim to be an expert but the best one I've ever had is Midleton (Irish). Very expensive though so not a help for Luci I'm afraid !

Was just having a whisky so thought I'd bring it up, naturally I searched to see if we have done this before, as you can see we have.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Whits who actually contributed to this just over 10 years ago. x

Anyway, I love it.  I'm a scotch man, really love the peaty stuff, current favourite is Laphroaig Four Oak which, unfortunately, is usually only available in duty free unless you buy it online for 65 quid, which I can't justify.

Other favourites are Lagavulin 16 and Ardbeg 10.

Any other fans out there?  What are you drinking at the moment if so?

Really like Dalwhinnie unless I'm buying Smiley Although Waitrose sometimes do their low-rent version "Winters Gold" on offer (although still around the 25quid mark). Currently enjoying the bottle of Monkey Shoulder I was bought for Father's Day.

Out of those two I prefer the Monkey Shoulder to the Dalwhinnie.  Once I've finished the Four Oak I'm going to give the Aldi single malt Islay a go which is £17.99.  Not heard anything about it but seen it on the shelf.  I'll report as and when I get some.

I've got bottles of McDonald's Ben Nevis and Bushmill's Black Bush that are in various stages of disappearing.

My old man passed away 3 year ago with probably 30 bottles of unopened premium whiskey.

I've tried a few times to get into it, but i just don't enjoy it.

For me, the only good thing about whiskey is that a double at bedtime gets me drowsy and overcomes my insomnia problem.  It's not recommended by the "experts", but it's the only method I've found which consistently gets me off to a quick sleep.  I've tried all sorts of methods. Anyone else find it hard to get to sleep regularly?

Yeah I struggle to get to sleep.
Pisses me off more is that the mrs is asleep as soon as she hit the pillow.

Might have to give the double a go  Pint
